Barca's left-wing hunt resumes as Nico Williams' deal looks off
Reports from Mundo Deportivo stated that even without completely ruling out Nico's signing, Barça is activating alternatives to Nico Williams. Even though FC Barcelona had a deadline to consider Nico's deal, it seems they know the player's choice, especially given his recent public signals.
Among the options on Barca's shortlist for the left-wing role, currently Kingsley Coman leads the chart. Given the winger's desire to leave Bayern Munich this summer, he has been offered to Barça. Hansi Flick, being one of the biggest admirers of Coman from his time at Bayern, likes him, and thus Coman stands a great chance to work with Flick in the Barca setup.
However, two issues might hamper the duo's reunion; one is that the player's salary is considerably high, and his record of injuries might be a stumbling block for his deal. Despite these, Coman stands a significant chance of leaving Bayern on an initial loan, making him the most interesting option on Barca's list.
Among the other options are Luis Diaz, who has been a significant prospect in Barca's camp since the beginning of the transfer window, and Rafael Leao. According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, Luis Diaz's name is still very popular at the club. Kingsley Coman and Rafael Leao are also on the radar.
Though further advancements regarding Barca's possible left-wing reinforcement are yet to arrive, chances are considerable that the Blaugrana club might end up signing a high-profile left winger this summer.
