Barca's legend shares a crucial update on the star defender's future at the club

Currently, one of the best FC Barcelona's defenders has been their solid center-back, Ronald Araujo. Brought in August 2018 from Boston River, the Uruguayan has seen much increase in ranks as well as roles at the Blaugrana club in recent years. Recently, when Barça asked Luis Suarez about Ronald Araujo's future, the affectionate response they received surprised them. Since the player never played under Joan Laporta, it was a generous gesture from the Uruguayan legend. However, the update doesn't look prosperous for the club's future.

Luis Suarez spoke about Araujo, mentioning that there is a real possibility of the star center-back leaving Barca amid an offer from Bayern. Not to forget, Bayern had come close to capturing Ronald Araujo in January, but the Blaugrana club had rejected both offers, worth €70M+€20M and €80M+€10M.

However, the scenarios seem much different this time, with Araujo himself being on the lookout for making a Bayern move in case an offer arrives. Recent reports from Mundo Deportivo mentioned something similar to the above, stating that the player hadn't responded to Barca's renewal offer, and then Laporta himself had to intervene to explain it all.

As for now, Ronald Araujo is working on his recovery and is set to return in December for the Blaugrana club. Given the player's stature, it is much certain that the Blaugrana club needs him, and a move in the January window could prove fatal for FC Barcelona. Even though reports have been resurfacing regarding Tah's Barca rumors, the club can't have Araujo leave before signing a proper replacement.
