Barcelona Player Ratings from a 1-0 win against Atlético
By Luis Garcia
Defenders
Jules Koundé: 7/10 - A bit shaky (offensively) at right back since he hasn't played there in a while, but overall good. Naturally pushes it forward though, which makes it just a bit baffling that he doesn't really like the right back role. Still needs a bit of work on his final ball and shot. Defensively very solid, however. A good game from him, one he needed, as he's been a bit shaky recently.
Araújo: 8/10 - Defended well against a very dangerous Atleti. He continues to show his importance to this team, both as a defender and a leader. He's an eraser of mistakes, using his speed and strength to bear down on forwards and make them very uncomfortable. Did just enough to bother Griezmann in the 57th min. Strong as usual and quick tracking down runners.
Christensen: 7/10 - The defense as a whole kept Atleti very quiet in the first half, although the midfield had a lot to do with that as well. Good passing from the Dane as always. Intercepted multiple balls very well. He knows how to cut off angles and is a very, very solid player.
Cancelo: 7/10 - Very good in the first half. He barely had to defend, which is always good with him. Associated very well with teammates, especially Frenkie and Félix. In this sort of game, I would've preferred Balde, just because I wouldn't have expected Barça to play as fluidly as they did. I was wrong there though, as Cancelo was a big part of the fluidity in this one.
