Much activity has been going on around the Blaugrana club these days. From being on the verge of starting their 2024/25 campaign against Valencia to being active in talks for player sales of Mika Faye, Vitor Roque, and Clement Lenglet, the Catalan club has been indulged in various schemes. However, amidst all this, shocking inside information has surfaced regarding the team's future project.

FC Barcelona doesn't count upon two superstars in their new project

Since joining the club in 2022 and 2023, respectively, Brazilian star winger Raphinha and veteran German Ilkay Gundogan have been the two mainstays in FC Barcelona's starting XI. Boasting off significant contributions so far at the club, the duo has been clinical in providing some hope to the club amidst the last two underwhelming campaigns.

Not to forget, Raphinha has stood as the best winger for the club since he left Leeds for the Blaugrana club. Netting on 20 opportunities and assisting on another 25, the winger has been one of the best performers for FC Barcelona. Similarly, Ilkay Gundogan, apart from his 19 goal contributions in the attacking midfield role, led the Barcelona lineup from the front when the team needed it the most.

However, recent reports regarding the duo's future don't sound impressive. According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona does not count Raphinha or Gündogan as structural in the sporting project. Moreover, considering that Raphinha and Gündogan have massive offers from Saudi Arabia, their future doesn't look bright at FC Barcelona.

Even though Gundogan could be considered for a move due to only a few years of the veteran left on the European stage, the club not counting upon Raphinha sounds strange. In the club's deepest UCL run in the last 3 campaigns, the Brazilian winger stood as the lone warrior in the attack force, managing 3 goals against PSG in the UCL 2023/24 quarterfinal.

Moreover, time and again Raphinha has stood out on every challenge the club has put him up to. Showing his prowess on both wings and dismantling the opposition backline through his Brazilian flair, the winger has done everything correctly in order to continue at the Blaugrana club.

Thus, apart from extracting some hefty money from the potential transfer of the Brazilian winger, no reason could sound significant to outline Raphina from the Barca project. However, the club should reconsider their choice before deciding on Gundogan and Raphinha, as they have proved to be the most reliable performers and might continue to do so at the club.
