FC Barcelona targets Kalvin Phillips on loan while Bayern Munich joins Bergvall race

Manchester City has put Kalvin Phillips on the market. The Premier League club is in search of a loan deal for their midfielder. City has set the price at €8 million for a half season loan. According to The Guardian, the interested clubs are waiting for City to lower their ask price.
The English clubs Crystal Palace, Newcastle and West Ham United are tracking the midfielder. On the other hand, there is also European interest from FC Barcelona, Atlético Madrid and Juventus. No club has made a move because of the unrealistic price tag.
The 28-year-old joined City in 2022 and has made only 16 appearances till date. Kalvin hasn't even started a single game for the club this season. If the same continues, then the Leeds native's Euro selection will be in jeopardy.
FC Barcelona is trying to get a new midfielder for a long time now. Having many targets but unable to sign a single one isn't working out for the Catalan giants. Also, Oriol Romeu hasn't met their expectations, so they'd like to have an alternative till they find a defensive midfield successor.
The deal is gonna be complicated, but as the price drops with the approach of the end of the window, Barça will have to make their move quick before other clubs seize the opportunity.
Bayern Munich enters the race for Bergvall
German giants Bayern Munich have entered the race to sign Swedish talent Lucas Bergvall. FC Barcelona was the most interested club in the midfielder until now, but reports suggest that The Bavarians have already made a move to sign the 17-year-old.
According to Sky Sports Germany, the Bavarian club has already presented a €9 million offer on the table. This offer is higher than of the Catalan giants, which puts them ahead in the contest. Eintracht Frankfurt is also interested in the youngster, but it seems less likely that Bergvall will go that way, considering the other clubs interested in him.
Only time will tell where Lucas will end up. Barça entered the race on a serious note, but Bayern's offer has now put them on the back foot. If the Blaugranes wish to succeed, they must make their move quickly and convince the involved parties to overcome their financial disadvantage.
