FC Barcelona would face AS Monaco in the Joan Gamper Trophy final, marking the end of their 2024/25 preseason campaign. Coming on the back of an unfortunate loss in their last game of the US Tour, Barcelona would want to enter into the new season on a winning note. Even though they couldn't complete the US Tour unbeaten, Flick's side has been doing well so far, and they would want to seize the Gamper Trophy, marking their first silverware of the 2024/25 campaign.

FC Barcelona Vs AS Monaco Preview

FC Barcelona line up next against AS Monaco on 12th August at 18:00 UTC in the finals of the Joan Gamper Trophy. Barcelona is coming into the fixture with consecutive wins against Man City and Real Madrid, two of the best European clubs, and a satisfactory performance against AC Milan. Thus, the fixture against AS Monaco wouldn't be a tough challenge for Flick's Barcelona, but the Catalan team surely needs to give their best shot to enter the official tournaments in their best run.

Considering the recent performances of Barcelona youngsters like Marc Bernal, Marc Casado, Pau Victor, Pablo Torre, and Mikayil Faye, the Barca lineup looks well strengthened to face the French club. With star players like Gundogan and Jules Kounde back in the squad, it shouldn't be much of a challenge for FC Barcelona.

Add to this the return of Barca's youth sensation Lamine Yamal and star winger Ferran Torres, and Barca's lineup against Monaco would very much reflect their overall lineup for the season ahead. Even though star players like De Jong, Gavi, and Araujo are injured, Barcelona has sufficient options who could fill in their departments, respectively.

However, not only would this game against Monaco act as the audition for several young players to step into the main XI, but it could also be a brilliant warm-up for players like Ter Stegen and Raphinha to get back in form before the real La Liga action starts.

Monaco's recent form has been unpredictable, where the French club has put up a significant show in the preseason friendlies against the likes of Feyenoord and Club NXT but miserably lost against Genoa. Thus, it looks like not much of a competitive fixture between a struggling Monaco and an impressive Barcelona.

Scoreline Prediction

Overall, the game looks much in Barcelona's favor, but surely, Monaco would try their level best against the Blaugrana club. With the likes of stars like Lewandowski, Yamal, Kounde, and the duo of Casado-Bernal in Barcelona's squad, a dominating win of 3-0 over Monaco would be a safe prediction.
