It is safe to say that no one expected Clément Lenglet to play for Aston Villa FC when he signed for FC Barcelona in 2018. The defender has witnessed one of the worst 'fall from grace' situations, followed by the most dark ages in Barça's history.

Things might just be falling in place for the defender as FC Bayern Munich is very much interested in the Frenchman's signature. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Bavarians are keenly following the defender's situation after signing Girona winger Bryan Zaragoza.

Bayern were interested in Ronald Araújo, but everyone knows the relationship between the Uruguayan and the Catalan club. Araújo is here to stay and the Cules also have a few disposable players at their hands in the same position.

Lenglet is stuck in the loan spell spiral and the Germans might prove to be 'his way out'. After conceding 15 goals in just 18 games, the German giants will be searching for reinforcements throughout this window.

Lenglet's Fall From Grace

Lenglet started falling apart somewhere near 2021. It was a time when, after two years, the Frenchman had cemented his spot in the starting XI. Defending for one of the best clubs in the world isn't an effortless task, though.

The pressure is enormous at this level, and where pressure makes diamonds, it also crushes others. Lenglet started making mistakes and these mistakes later piled up, which killed his confidence. Everything started falling apart and the Beauvais local was put up on the transfer list.

Hotspur stadium to Villa Park, the Frenchman just couldn't seem to get it right. Now, trying his luck with The Lions, the defender failed to win over Unai Emery. Lenglet has made only five appearances in the UEFA Europa Conference League and not a single one in any other competition.

With Bayern on the door, the Frenchman's decision will be crucial. It can either make or break his career as he starts to enter his prime years at the age of 28.
