Flick's FC Barcelona has been off to a dominating start to their 2024/25 campaign. Coming in their UCL opener against AS Monaco on the back of five consecutive victories, the Blaugrana club is in great morale and confidence, looking forward to maintaining their unbeaten streak. While the club has established its place at the top of the La Liga table, it would want to replicate the same in this season's Champions League campaign.

However, not to forget that AS Monaco had defeated the Blaugrana club 3-0 in the Joan Gamper trophy, and thus, the club can't be taken lightly either. Acknowledging the club's great defense, which was evident in the previous meeting of the two clubs, Flick remarked that they need to create spaces to be able to control the game.

Flick mentioned,

""I know the Monaco coach very well, and they are doing a very good job. They work very well defensively, and we have to focus on this aspect. We have to go with confidence and create spaces.""

But, given the kind of form the overall unit has been in, it seems difficult for AS Monaco to find solutions to Barca's high-line play. Especially the performance against Girona, where the Blaugrana club outplayed the Catalan giants Girona, defeating them on their home turf. With the club being in brilliant form, Barcelona boss Flick has made a bold statement about the unit's overall chances in the UCL this season.

Hansi Flick remarked,

""I think we can win the Champions League. We play at a very good level, and we have to be ready to play against the best.""

The FC Barcelona Vs Monaco fixture is not only special due to the Catalan side seeking revenge for the 3-0 Gamper loss, but the fixture marks the return of a star back into Barca's squad. Ansu Fati, being sidelined due to a foot injury, is set to return after two months and stands significant chances of game minutes against Monaco.

Flick, being questioned about the youngster, replied,

""Ansu is ready to play. When he's on the pitch, he really enjoys himself and is scoring goals in training.""

Overall, with star winger Ansu Fati returning for the Blaugrana club and the fixture is a chance for Barca to level scores after the 3-0 loss of preseason, the game is set to be an enthralling one. Barca fans would hope that the club continues on winning ways, getting a dream start to the new UCL campaign.
