Hansi Flick reflects upon Barca's 2nd La Liga matchday win against Athletic

FC Barcelona has started their 2024/25 campaign exactly as Culers wanted. Winning their first two games, that too against Valencia and Athletic Bilbao, where they had dropped some points in the last season, is impressive. As everyone had expected, Flick's new Barca setup has been delivering impressive performances one after the other.

While it was a brilliant team effort overall, more importantly, this time, the Barcelona lineup looked sharp from the first minutes. And as usual, bagging the complete 3 points with an outstanding 2nd half, the Blaugrana club finds itself with 6 points after the first two games. Speaking to the media after the match, Barca boss Flick remarked about the club's brilliant start,

Just like the game against Valencia, once again, Robert Lewandowski took the responsibility of finishing the tie with his goal. Even though, unfortunately, he missed a probable hattrick, the striker's 75th-minute goal secured the complete 3 points for FC Barcelona. Speaking about the veteran striker's performance, Flick said,

""I know Lewandowski; I've already worked with him. He's at 100%. In the first half, he could have scored one or two more goals. He's a natural goal scorer.""

While Lewandowski stood up to the challenge as usual, speculations were made whether Barcelona's star midfielder Pedri would continue in the same form as he promised in the last minutes against Valencia. However, starting for the Catalan club, Pedri simply stood sensational; from making crucial spaces to being involved in the 2-1 goal, the midfielder was pivotal for Barca's midfield.

Acknowledging the star midfielder's brilliant comeback, Flick said,
