Things don't seem fitting at The Allianz Arena as the tense relationship between Thomas Tuchel and Joshua Kimmich reaches new highs. This situation has created an opening for FC Barcelona, who has been interested in the German midfielder for a long time.

Reports suggest that Kimmich isn't happy with his new role. The German midfielder was shifted back to the right-back role which he used to play before later moving up-field. This has caused a stir between Kimmich and Tuchel.

The German midfielder has also been subject to continuous swappings off the field. You wouldn't see the same thing happen at Nagelsmann's Bayern, where the Rottweil native was an integral part of the starting XI.

Although Thomas will also be leaving Bayern by the end of the season, he wouldn't leave without consequences. Firstly, Bayern's twelve year Bundesliga rein is in danger and his fit with Kimmich might have also soured the relationship between the midfielder and the club.

What does this mean for FC Barcelona?

This situation presents a great opportunity for the Blaugranes, as they might have their way with Joshua if he decides to leave. It is still a very complicated situation as Barça don't possess the financial muscle required to sign the German international.

This also puts Barcelona in a paradoxical position. If Kimmich also decides to leave the club, the Blaugranes can either have the manager or the player. Still, Thomas Tuchel being appointed as Barcelona coach might or might not be a farfetched idea as Laporta favors Hansi Flick, whereas Sporting Director Deco wants a coach who has experience managing in different countries.

The circumstances remain the same. If Hansi Flick ends up at the Catalan capital, then Barcelona going all out for Kimmich won't be out of the blue. But if Tuchel is the one who ends up at the Camp Nou, then the Blaugranes can forget Kimmich.
