After Nico Williams' deal turned cold at Barcelona, the Blaugrana club has been in the race to bring his Euro teammate, Dani Olmo. In the need for a versatile player at the club, Barca has been engrossed in Olmo's deal; thus, despite Leipzig's rejection of their initial offer, Barca has proposed another offer for him.

Is Dani Olmo's deal worth €60 million?

Analyzing from a neutral perspective' Barca's second offer doesn't look that bad for a player like Dani Olmo. Having €55M fixed, along with €4M as easily claimable variables, the new proposal seems like a nice deal for Leipzig. However, some reports suggest that RB Leipzig wants at least €60M fixed for Dani Olmo. Thus, the question arises: Is Barcelona's dream signing of Dani Olmo worth €60M?

Given Barcelona's financial conditions, it is known to all that their flaccid conditions played a huge role in Nico's athletic decision, and thus, Barca spending €60M for Olmo raises eyebrows. Banking such a high amount solely based on an incredible Euro campaign can't make sense for FC Barcelona.

Upon deep diving into Olmo's overall 2023/24 campaign as an RB Leipzig player, it is easy to notice that though the attacking midfielder has some significant goal contributions to his name, his physical availability can be a big issue. Missing 29 games in the last campaign, accompanied by 20 games in 2022/23 and 19 games in 2021/22, doesn't look good on the player's profile.

Thus, even though Dani Olmo boasts an impressive addition to Barcelona's squad, his frequent injuries might hamper Barca's overall campaign. Considering Barca's ongoing injury problems, with star players like De Jong, Pedri, and Araujo all injured, the club would not prefer an injury-prone player in the squad.

Even though it's a proven fact that Barca's boss, Flick, knows how to improve a player's physique and help him recover fast, spending €60M on such a signing, which would be unavailable frequently, wouldn't be Barca's choice. Not to forget what has happened with Ousmane Dembele, being brought in for a mammoth €105M, and thus, no Barca fan would hope to see Olmo replicating the same.

Overall, it's not doubtful that Dani Olmo's signing will be a great addition to FC Barcelona; the Blaugrana club should be ready for everything that comes with him. Spending €60M seems a bit more, but even if they want to pursue Olmo, they should be prepared enough to manage the player for his maximum availability.
