Lamine Yamal Sets Record as Barcelona Win by Over One Goal Margin After 114 Days

Coming on at the 42nd minute in Barcelona's match against Osuasuna, the youngster certainly made a difference. The Spaniard scored the last goal of the match in the dying minutes as the Blaugranes put Osasuna to bed with a two goal difference.

The goal came from a small exquisite run by João Félix, who nutmegs an Osasuna defender on the way. The Portuguese then closes in the box, making his last pass to Yamal, who finishes clinically into the bottom left corner.

This goal not only shows the 16-year-olds competence but also the youngsters maturity beyond his years. The Spanish winger doesn't care about being flashy, he just gets the job done by simple football.

As Johan Cruyff once said,

"Playing Football is very Simple but playing Simple Football is the hardest thing there is"

Lamine Yamal seems to have realized the hardest part of the game at such a young age. Also with this goal, the 16-year-old winger has broken another record and nailed his name in the books. The Spanish international surpassed Gavi to become the youngest goal scorer in the Spanish Super Cup.

Lamine did it at 16 years and 182 days of age. The last record broken by the youngster was almost a 100 days prior when he scored against Granada and become the youngest goal scorer in La Liga at 16 years and 87 days.

These are just beginnings to the accomplishments Yamal has in store for him in the present. Everyone's certain that there is more to come.

FC Barcelona Wins With More Than One Goal Margin After 114 Days

In the same match, Barcelona broke an alleged curse by winning with more than a one goal difference after 114 days. Frenkie De Jong acknowledged the fact in the post-match interview,

"It had been a long time since we had won by [more than] a [one] goal difference"

The last match in which Barça won with more than a one goal difference was last year against Antwerp, which the players sealed the deal in a 5-0 win. That match was on September 19.

After the destruction of Antwerp Barcelona, went 21 games with cut-throat competition before turning the tides. Of the 21 matches, they won 14, drew 4 and lost 3.
