The last few days have seen Barcelona being in the race to acquire the services of Eurostar Dani Olmo. Considering the Spaniard's versatility to adorn the midfield role as well as get accustomed to the wing responsibilities, Olmo has been Barca's dream transfer prospect, which the club wants to complete as soon as possible.
However, the Blaugrana club hasn't reached an agreement yet with Olmo's recent club, RB Leipzig, who aren't ready to negotiate easily for Olmo. Leipzig consider Dani Olmo as an integral part of their setup, and as per the current circumstances, the club doesn't find itself to agree on anything less than €60M.
Leipzig's director issues a deadline for Olmo's Barca move
Though reports from Mundo Deportivo suggest that Leipzig hasn't yet responded to Barca's second offer worth €47m plus €13m in add-ons, chances are less for Leipzig to agree. Initially, there were many European Giants alongside Barca in the race for Olmo, but the player's preference and Leipzig's authority have reduced his future club possibilities to two.
Further reports suggest that Dani Olmo has arrived at Leipzig with his agents to conclude the player's future. Moreover, Olmo does not want to prolong the case; he wants to wear the Barcelona shirt this summer, and this might help the case. Meanwhile, Leipzig's director has clearly stated an important deadline for Olmo's transfer; he said on the potential transfer,
""If there is a solution by Thursday, then there is a solution. Otherwise, he will join our training here, and we will have another top player in our ranks.""Marcel Schäfer
RB Leipzig are set to kick off their preseason training from August 8th, Friday, and as mentioned, Olmo would start the training with Leipzig if a move to Barca fails. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has stated that Barca's sporting director, Deco, will have an important meeting with the player's agent about his Barca move.
Though more updates on his potential move are yet to arrive, chances look slim that the Blaugrana club would be able to negotiate with Leipzig below €60M.
