Star Barcelona defender finds his situation unresolved at the club
- Lenglet's future is in the air and he is waiting to resolve his situation.
- The defender would fly to the US Preseason tour with the Barcelona squad.
The last few hours haven't been on a good note for the Blaugrana players and the club. Having got Ansu Fati injured and other clubs entering the race for Barca's top transfer prospects like Nico Williams and Dani Olmo, things seem to be going out of favor for FC Barcelona. Add to that the situation of a forgotten Barcelona star who feels stuck at the club.
During the 2019-20 campaign, Clement Lenglet used to be a pivotal face in Barcelona's backline, leading the defense charts along with Gerard Pique. However, since then, his career hasn't been on the same elevation, witnessing many downfalls, to the situation where the French center-back finds his situation complicated at the Catalan club.
Clement Lenglet finds his situation unresolved at Barca
Though Clement Lenglet was aware that Barça did not count him in their plans, he started the preseason thinking that some better offers might come for him. However, his agent is still looking for a solution with the Frenchman's future club. He could leave on loan, a permanent transfer, or contract termination.
Even though some clubs did offer something for the defender, it didn't seem reasonable to Barca to let him move that way. Some time back, Bologna seemed interested in Lenglet to fill in Calafiori's void, though this rumor didn't survive any long. Recently, Besiktas also showed interest in signing Lenglet on loan, on half his salary at Barca.
Just to remind you, the last two lean deals for Lenglet had similar terms, and depending upon the player's choice, the club might take a decision. But as of now, Lenglet is set to fly with the team for the US Preseason tour, leaving the defender's Barcelona future in the air. The defender waits for clarification on his future from the club as soon as possible.
Though further updates regarding the player's possible move are yet to arrive, Barca would wish him the best of luck, as there was a time when the Frenchman used to lead the Barcelona backline and has helped the club witness some great moments.
