Hansi Flick's Barcelona is being reinforced in an important part of the season. As it has been confirmed after the Friday morning training at Ciutat Esportiva, both Raphinha and Marc Bernal are very close to receiving medical clearance.

However, the news isn't good regarding Andreas Christensen who is still out of the group.

The return of key attacker

The return of Raphinha is a big news for Barcelona. The Brazilian is back to training and has been working with the group full time, which implies that he is ready to play some part against Osasuna.

  • He participated in the full training session with the rest of the team on Friday.
  • His medical clearance is expected to be given tomorrow before the next game.
  • He will give Flick offensive option in the wings during the last part of the season.

Marc Bernal has been a positive addition for everyone

The most exciting part is the definitive return of Marc Bernal. The young midfielder has gone through a difficult period after a long-term serious injury to his knee, which happened at the beginning of the 2024/25 season. But has been phenomenal ever since coming back from the injury.

  • Bernal has been reintegrated into high-intensity drills without problems.
  • He adds more options in the midfield, which has recently been dominated by Gavi and De Jong.

Christensen is a doubt for the final stages

Although the attack and midfield have seen reinforcements, the same cannot be said about the defence. Andreas Christensen has been affected by chronic Achilles tendon problems all along the season.

  • Christensen is not training with the group on Friday and he continues his training in the gym alone.
  • The medical staff does not want to take any risk and avoid another long-term relapse.
  • Currently, there is no confirmation for when the player could be given the discharge, and for the next match, it is almost impossible.

Working for the final steps

With Raphinha and Bernal back, the coach has more options. The team will try to maintain its dynamics and achieve the season objectives.

In the next 24 hours the players will be re-evaluated and will officially join the squad to travel for the next match.
