France Football has announced the 30-man shortlist for the 2026 Men's Ballon d'Or, and although Barca had their share of inclusions, fans have been completely dumbfounded as to how two of Barcelona's captains, Raphinha and Pedri were left off the list. It doesn't only stop there, as the some of the men who were selected in this years voting are ridiculous to try to understand.

Absurd inclusions

Inclusion of Ferran Torres ahead of Pedri & Raphinha has stunned everyone, to say the least. None of us who watch football on a weekly basis can argue that Pedri and Raphinha deserve to be there as both these players produced quality numbers last season.

Leaving out Barca's creative masterpieces from the list, and deciding to vote for Julian Quinones, who plays for Saudi Pro League side, Al-Qadsiah or Ferrran Torres, who while not disappointing, did not have the best of last season. The only thing he has in his resume is his World Cup final goal.

Raphinha and Pedri are robbed

The only person who had 100% right, without question, to make the Ballon d'Or shortlist was Raphinha. He should not only be higher than Furan Torres, but at the very least be in the top 15-20 ranking for this year. He evolved over the course of the season to become a real goal scoring, decisive threat who wasn't just doing it against easy games. He was scoring critical goals, and providing vital assist after vital assist in the highest pressure situations of the entire year.

To disregard a player whose entire season was built around matches of that magnitude, and not even give him a Ballon d'Or nomination is beyond comprehension.

The same goes for Pedri. To think that Pedri who's one of the best midfielders in the world having played a crucial role in Spain's World Cup victory and leading Barcelona to a domestic title, is a disgrace.

Motivation for the season ahead

Although both Pedri & Raphinha can not possibly bring home the coveted prize this year, the 3 current Barca stars are still in pole position to win it all.

With the incredible form of the players over the opening weeks of the new La Liga season, the voters will surely take notice next year.
