Well, this is the most unfortunate news imaginable for Roony Bardghji and FC Barcelona. As the promising Swedish winger was all set to pack his bags on a loan spell just to get the playing minutes that he desperately needed, an unimaginable event has happened. It has now been confirmed by the tests that he has torn his ACL and is looking at a 6 to 7-month absence.

Terrible news for the Swedish winger who was about to leave on loan to get more minutes.
Get well soon! ❤️🩹👊🏼 pic.twitter.com/vbXiO4uRMa
The timing, unfortunately for everyone involved, couldn’t be worse.
It has been next to impossible for young Roony to get any game-time under Hansi Flick in Barca’s attack and a loan move away from Camp Nou seemed to be the best alternative in order to develop the player properly. The kid obviously wanted it, the club agreed it was the right choice for him to go elsewhere to get experience, and there were plenty of teams vying to get him for 2026/2027.
It now means that all those loan negotiations have been completely called off.
A new long road ahead
Rather than being out on the field getting minutes under his belt for a new team, Bardghji is now going to have to go through a long battle to overcome an ACL injury. This is undoubtedly a difficult moment for a young 20-year-old playing at such a club and this setback is tough from a mental as well as a physical standpoint.
Barca’s medical staff will be managing his surgery as well as his rehabilitation program, which should ideally see him make his return sometime in early 2027, which is obviously a major setback for any young individual.
However, at 20-years-of-age and considering how many times he has unfortunately struggled with knee problems throughout his career, it seems that Bardghji will recover and again bounce back as expected. For now, his career will shift from loan rumors to medical treatments.
