Zambrotta was signed from Juventus after the Calciopoli scandal for €14 million. His performances were disappointing and inconsistent. Due to his poor form, Barcelona were compelled to sign Dani Alves, which turned out to be a very good deal. Alves displaced Zambrotta in the first-team with consistent performances.
