Almost all FC Barcelona fans were excited to have Marc ‘Road Runner’ Overmars join the Culés. Due to constant injury problems, the €30 million man was limited to just 95 appearances in four seasons at the Camp Nou.

His contract was terminated due to his knee injury and he retired from professional football. He tried to make a comeback later in his career with a Dutch team but failed due to his knee problems.
