The players who should leave Barcelona next season
Ivan Rakitic
The Croatian workhorse has not been at his best this season. His inconsistent performances are largely due to the fact that Luis Enrique has utilised him as an advanced playmaker, rather than his normal role as a box-to-box midfielder. But the Croatian has shown that he can survive a high tempo game.
Rakitic has many suitors and has reached his peak. Manchester United have shown interest in signing him. But the drawback to this is the fact that he has signed a new deal. If he leaves, it will be no less than for €40 million.
Rakitic has a natural replacement in the form of Ferran Sarsanedas, a nominee for the Golden Boy award. If the management thinks Sarsanedas is too inexperienced for the role, it has B team veterans Alex Carbonell and Gerard Gumbau. All of these players have impressed this season and are worthy of a call-up.
