Barcelona manager Luis Enrique talked about the lack of experience the Barca B players had with the first team this season.

Despite the struggle with the first team squad, another Barcelona team has been very good this season. Barca B has done some really nice things including winning their group and qualifying for the group playoffs off the Segunda División B. This is the third tier of Spanish football behind La Liga and Segunda División A. Despite this, the Barca B team under Spanish football rules has to play one tier lower than their parent team. It means that Barca B are ineligible for La Liga promotion.

While Barca B have been successful, only a few players have seen time with the senior team led by Luis Enrique. Lucho was asked a question about the Barca B players. It involved how they didn’t get to experience the Barca first team. The question seemed to irk Lucho a little bit. However, he did respond to the question at the pre-game press conference for the seniors teams last league match against Eibar.

"“I consider myself a coach who at all clubs has used a lot of players. I’ve used the players I thought were right. I like to use all my players, but if they’re not at the [necessary] level, they can’t come up to the first team. It’s easy to say bring them up, but the players have to be at the level required.”Lucho On The Lack Of Experience For Barca B Players On The Senior Team"

Overall, there are a few players that did get to debut for the senior team this year. Marlon Santos is the most recognizable as he has played in the Champions League and in La Liga this season. The lack of young players from Barca B is alarming to some. As Luis Enrique leaves the club, maybe the next manager integrates some of the young players onto the senior team in the future. Only time will tell for these players.
