According to Tuttosport, Barcelona and Juventus officials met during the Champions League. They were discussing a deal for Andre Gomes, but they could not reach a consensus. Although it is good that Barcelona are trying to offload Andre Gomes, there has been no progress.

Andre Gomes has turned out to be a complete flop. The €55 million signing was not a consistent performer. Luis Enrique could not fit him into his tactics and Ernesto Valverde has failed to do so till now. The Portuguese playmaker has almost no future at Barcelona.

The report states that Juventus want to take him on loan, with an option to sign him permanently. That may be one of the reasons that negotiations have not advanced. But if the Barcelona board wants to regain its credibility, the Gomes deal needs to go through.

Reports in France suggest that Barcelona are looking at Willian

According to France Football, Barcelona are looking at another alternative for Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho. Willian is truly a worthy candidate. The Brazilian has become one of the best wingers in the world since joining Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk.

But it is not likely that this deal will happen. Willian will figure in Antonio Conte’s plans this season. Manchester United had expressed interest in him but he dismissed the rumours, saying that he was ‘happy’ at Stamford Bridge.
