Xavi Hernández defines La Masia, tiki-taka and Spanish football. The legend had famously said, “That’s what I do: look for spaces. All day. I’m always looking.” And he was the best in the world at his job.
Xavi displayed his prowess both for Barcelona and the Spain national team over the course of his career in European football. He featured in the FIFPro XI 6 times and the UEFA Team of the Year 5 times. FIFA also selected him for third place in the Ballon d’Or 4 times.
Xavi also won 25 titles in his 17 year stay at the Camp Nou. He, along with Carles Puyol led the side to innumerable successes over the years, in the capacity of vice-captain and captain respectively.
