Barcelona have a bright past when it comes to free transfers. The club signed Henrik Larsson on a Bosman from Celtic and it turned out to be a huge success. Larsson was the supersub for Frank Rijkaard. He always made an impact coming off the bench.

But in the last 5 years or so, Barcelona have stopped taking advantage of the Bosman rule. The club has preferred to splurge on huge signings rather than trying out the free agents. But Barcelona has the opportunity of doing both next summer.

The contracts of some huge names will be coming to an end next summer, and the club can sign them to reinforce the squad.
