4. Barcelona 5-1 Chelsea (1999-2000 Champions League)
Barcelona performed very badly in the first leg. After Luís Figo gave away a free-kick in a dangerous area, Chelsea forward Tore André Flo curled in into the corner to give Chelsea the lead. He followed it up with a tap-in from an assist by Gianfranco Zola. Within 4 minutes of the second goal, Flo made it 3-0 by chipping the ball over the Barca goalkeeper.
But Barcelona redeemed themselves somewhat in he 64th minute. Luís Figo made up for his earlier mistake and finished off a team move. Barca got the away goal, but it would not be an important factor in the second leg.
In the second leg, the Camp Nou created an amazing atmosphere for the players. But the players did not disappoint. Barca took the lead in the 24th minute through an unfortunate own goal by Celestine Babayaro. But the team did not let an own goal steal their glory.
In the 45th minute, Luís Figo stroked the ball into the empty net after a scorcher from Patrick Kluiver rebounded off the post. But Chelsea did not lose hope, scoring in the 60th minute. But from that moment on, Barcelona became more determined than ever.
Dani Garcia headed in a cross from Pep Guardiola to get Barcelona back in the game. In the very next minute, Rivaldo missed the penalty but Barca remained determined to win. In the 7th minute of extra time, Figo won another penalty. But this time, Rivaldo scored. Barcelona ended the game with a flourish as Kluivert headed the ball into the net from a Dani Garcia cross in the 104th minute.
