Barcelona still see a future for the oft-injured French forward.

Ousmane Dembélé’s Barcelona career has not gone as everyone would have hoped when he first signed with the club from Borussia Dortmund.

Since arriving, he’s spent a good portion of his time out with injury and when he has featured has only been able to show flashes of what people saw during his time at Dortmund.

It should come as no surprise then that his future is up for debate. Speculation has floated about that Barcelona are prepared to sell him with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United interested in him.

Dembélé himself has added fuel to the fire by liking a tweet in which he is pictured celebrating a goal in a Liverpool uniform.

Regardless, the Catalans themselves are not contemplating in getting rid of the player.

According to Sport, the club still believe in the French forward and have confidence that he can succeed with the Catalan giants.

Despite liking a picture of himself as a Liverpool player, Dembélé also must still believe that he has a lot to offer.

If he believed anything different, then he would have accepted to move to PSG in the summer when his name was being heavily linked in a potential trade with the Parisian side for Neymar.

He dug his heels in and refused a move because he wanted to stay at Barcelona and prove that his signing was not a mistake.

His commitment has been questioned in the past but his latest injury is one that was a blow to everyone involved.

Dembélé had been doing everything right trying to stay fit and his setback is just something that happens. Ernesto Valverde said something to that affect when the player was forced off in a Champions League match against Dortmund, his former side.

The only thing he and the club are focused on at the moment is making sure that his recovery process goes well and is back with the club by February.

His return would definitely be a huge boost for their efforts in both La Liga and Champions League. So for now, at least, Dembélé isn’t going anywhere.
