It is very clear that Ernesto Valverde’s time as the coach of FC Barcelona is coming to an end with constant rumors surrounding many potential candidates to take over either mid-season or in June.

More from Everything Barca

The recent elimination from the Spanish Super Cup after their defeat against Atletico Madrid has reignited a long due concern of millions of Barcelona fans, the sacking of Ernesto Valverde.

It seems that Ernesto is currently living his finals days as a Barca coach with the club openly approaching many potential candidates to replace the former Bilbao manager.

It appears that the Blaugrana board have finally decided to part ways with the Spaniard and are looking for an immediate replacement, and if none found, then they would likely finalize a deal for next summer.

Here are possible managers who are linked with Barca, who are likely to succeed Valverde,

Xavi Hernández

It is no doubt that Xavi has immerged as the big favorite to be the next coach with the Catalans offering a two-year contract with an option to start immediately. Xavi has recently rejected this offer as he wants to focus on his current affairs with Al Sadd (Qatar Stars League), who he currently manages, but keeps his options open for a return in the summer.

A Catalan legend retired at the end of last season and become the newly appointed Al Sadd manager. The culés are forever excited with the idea of the inevitable return of one of their greatest midfielders.

Xavi has made more than 750 appearances for the Spanish giants, making him the best candidate to know everything about the Blaugrana DNA. The only concern revolving his return is his lack of managerial experience but having played a crucial role during his time in the Guardiola Era, there is no one better than the former captain to understand the rhythm of the former Barca style.
