Barcelona have signed young right-back from Brazil’s second division team, Coritiba, as a replacement to the likely departure of Nelson Semedo.

Barcelona have been struggling to find a replacement for Dani Alves with the current squad relying on Sergi Roberto and Nelson Semedo to fill the Brazilian’s shoes.

Many talented players like Joshua Kimmich and former La Masia graduate, Hector Bellerin, were linked with a move in the summer, while Barca’s Nelson Semedo was reportedly moving out of the Nou Camp.

Semedo has not been featured in any of the matches since Quique Setien’s arrival, indicating that the new coach is on par with the former manager, Ernesto Valverde, who also reportedly preferred the Spaniard over the Portuguese international.

While the Catalan giants are planning for the future, Globoesporte via AS reports that the club have reached an agreement with Coritiba to sign the promising youngster, Yan Couto, when he turns 18 in June.

The 17-year-old has been scouted by many European clubs with Premier League’s Arsenal and Bundesliga’s Bayer Leverkusen reportedly interested in the prospect. He was also listed in the compiled list of 60 of the world’s most promising players by The Guardian.

He is known to be really quick on the ball on the attack while also having good defending talent. His role model has reportedly been Dani Alves, making him a perfect candidate to fill the former Barca man’s role at the Nou Camp.

The report claims that the Spanish champ will pay €5.45 million (£4.6 million) excluding various add-ons.
