Barcelona’s newest arrival, Martin Braithwaite, believes club captain Lionel Messi to be the best passer in the world.

Latest six-months injury to Frenchman Ousmane Dembele allowed Barcelona to make a shock February transfer for 28-year-old Leganes striker, Martin Braithwaite, bring in a much-needed attacking reinforcement.

More from Everything Barca

Braithwaite made an impressive debut for the club after setting up two goals in the 5-0 victory over Eibar. He also managed to play a few minutes as a substitute in the 2-0 loss against Real Madrid. The former Leganes striker used his explosive speed to create some problems for the Los Blancos’ back four but was seen lacking during his defensive duties, allowing Vinicius Junior to run behind him that opened up the score sheet that saw Real Madrid gain the much-needed confidence and momentum to close the game.

Braithwaite has opened up about sharing the field with such incredible players at Barca,

"“I just see how the players play, look at how they do (things) naturally, it’s more easy for me to adapt to them. If I do something they do naturally they don’t have to change. I just have to be there where they put the ball.” Braithwaite said speaking to Didac Peyret and Javier GiraldoSource Sport"

when asked about club legend Lionel Messi,

"“I just have to play my game. I like to make good runs and I have the best passer in the world, so for me, it’s really easy.”"

Martin is still settling in at the Nou Camp and claims that though Blaugrana is outside his comfort zone, he sees it as a positive feeling,

"“Yes. In a way [He is outside his comfort zone]. I don’t know because it’s not something I fear but I would say it’s an achievement [to play for Barca].”"

Braithwaite will surely look to make a name for himself in the coming weeks not only to fight for a chance to play out his contract at Barca but to also attract other big European clubs, as he is reported to be just a short term solution to the attacking issues.
