Players like Tammy Abraham, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Mason Mount, Reece James and Fikayo Tomori have already made a name for themselves after being promoted to the first team; and Gilmour could be the next.

Billy’s performance against Jorgen Klopp’s Liverpool in their FA Cup clash had impressed the million football fanatics around the world. This was his first full 90-minute appearance, that also earned him the man of the match title for his performance.

El Desmarque reports that Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barca are all interested in the talented youngster. The European giants, however, will find it difficult to convince the Premier League side to let go of their promising midfielder with Frank Lampard stating big plans for the former Rangers player.

"“I’ve got absolute trust in Billy, I remember when he first came in against Sheffield United, we drew the game and people questioned this kid who looks like a 15-year-old. I remember someone individually saying that to me.” Lampard said.“But I’ve no problem with him because if he’s small in stature he’s huge in personality, and also huge in talent. For me, for a midfield player I have lots of questions. Do you want to receive the ball in all positions, in all moments? Yes, he does. Do you want to make angles, can you pick the right pass? Yes, he generally does. Will you put your foot in? Yes, he does.” he continued.Source Daily Star"

The Scottish international, however, could be leaning towards a move to the Nou Camp after recently revealing that his playstyle is modeled after Blaugrana legend, Andres Iniesta.

"“It was always Iniesta. I just loved the way he played, how he got the ball, passing the ball.” said Billy when BBC Sports asked who his idol was.Source Goal"

Iniesta is one of the best midfielders to ever play for the Catalans and with Billy Gilmour’s similar playstyle, he could be the perfect addition to the midfield trio at Camp Nou.
