The midfielder was linked with many European sides during the January transfer window with many reports claiming a return to the Nou Camp was around the corner. Olmo, however, instead signed for Bundesliga side RB Leipzig for €30 million.
Dani has now revealed that Blaugrana may have displayed interest but did not follow through,
"“They spoke to my agents in November as if they wanted to do a deal very quickly, but then they postponed everything for one reason or another, and so until the end of January, they asked me to wait. Then they saw that I had almost completed a deal with Leipzig. I was already committed. I wanted to go to a team that had a present and future project for me. Leipzig offered it to me and other teams did not. They showed that they loved me more.” ” Olmo said.Source Mundo Deportivo"
Dani has made 5 appearances for RB Leipzig with his debut against Borussia Monchengladbach, where he played 21 minutes of the 2-2 draw that played out at the Red Bull Arena. He scored his first goal for the club three days later in a 3-1 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Olmo has also commented on his teammates, Dayot Upamecano and Timo Werner, who are both linked with a move to the Nou Camp.
"“Timo Werner, who is an airplane. While Upamecano is very good. With the ball he is very safe, a very complete center. In the one on one very powerful, very difficult to beat”"
