Barcelona name their price for Manchester United target
Barcelona are keen on signing defensive reinforcements this summer with Samuel Umtiti being named the favorite to be axed.
Barcelona are considering a massive rebuilding across the squad with reports claiming on the defensive end, the club wants to bring in two new players. The plan is to sell the struggling Frenchman with intentions of signing a left-footed central defender. Sport reports that Pau Torres, a 23-year-old Villareal player, is a favorite among the various names on the list.

The Spaniard has a release clause of €50 million and it is clear that with Barca’s intentions of signing the likes of Neymar Jr. and Lautaro Martinez, the amount is clearly unaffordable. The Catalan giants are hoping to make a sale of around €50 million for Samuel Umtiti in the next summer transfer window, which would then aid the financing of a new defender.
The World Cup winner has struggled at the Nou Camp ever since his knee injury and despite Blaugrana’s attempts to provide the defender with the opportunities to reclaim the central defender spot, the Frenchman has only managed 16 matches this season while fellow teammates Gerrard Pique and Clement Lenglet have appeared for 33 and 29 matches respectively.
The report claims that Manchester United’s coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in the market for a central defender who could play alongside Harry Maguire, while Arsenal are also looking into the matter as they believe Umtiti to potentially be a quality signing for the squad.
