After roughly eight weeks of suspended activities at Barcelona, the players are preparing to resume training amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Given the situation of the coronavirus crisis and recommendations received from the club’s medical team, Barcelona suspended all club activities on March 13. The men’s football first team are now preparing for the first day back on the training grounds but will have to undergo a medical test first.

The current La Liga season is said to resume next month and Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barca have scheduled their medical testing for Wednesday. Initially, the players will be training individually until further notice allows them to train together.

Every club must comply with La Liga’s strict inspections and protocol to ensure player safety in the facilities. Once the clubs have been approved, the players will be allowed to use the facilities individually. Soon they will train in small groups, probably aimed at the different positions and training, and finally be allowed to hold sessions with the entire squad.

Blaugrana have already passed the inspections, confirmed by the club’s statement.

"“The football first team will be back at the Ciutat Esportiva on Wednesday for the relevant medical tests ahead of starting training individually in the coming days. La Liga has give the go ahead for the tests to be carried out after the Club facilities are inspected on Tuesday.”Source Club’s Website"

La Liga have proposed plans to restart the current season behind closed doors with the aim of holding the first match in mid-June.
