Bayern Munich recently rejected the option to permanently sign the Brazilian which has caused a massive financial problem for Barca especially with the ongoing crisis revolving around COVID-19.
The club are looking into the possible sale for the former Liverpool star while also accepting any loan offers. Coutinho’s transfer value and his salary are both very high and cannot be afforded by many clubs in the current market.
Newcastle United were recently linked as prospective buyers but no concrete offer has been made. Chelsea have also been heavily linked with the 27-year-old despite his injury.
Coutinho recently underwent an ankle surgery which is said to have thrown off any prospective suitors. Rivaldo, however, believes that the interest will remain.
"“Chelsea are the favorites to sign Coutinho and I don’t believe they will be put off by his recent injury. After all, next season is still very distant and he will have enough time to complete recover.” He said.Source Betfair"
Despite all these links, the Brazilian midfielder also has the option to remain in the Nou Camp. Rivaldo advises the midfielder to show his desire to remain with the Spanish giants in order to prove his worth.
"“If the transfer doesn’t go forward and he stays at Barcelona perhaps a salary reduction, based on the player’s decision, could earn plaudits from the club’s board and maybe let him show that he is eager to remain at the club and finally prove his worth. Yes, there are many clubs already reducing their players’ salaries because of coronavirus crisis, but if the player takes a step forward in that themselves it would be seen as the attitude of someone interested in remaining at the club. Much could happen before next season and we can only wait for the next chapters of this story”Source Goal"
Rivaldo believes in the Brazilian international, claiming that he has the quality to succeed but the sport can sometimes be tough and volatile. He advises Coutinho once again to remain calm and confident in his future and to remain optimistic in his ability to shine for any club.
The player’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, recently opened up about Coutinho’s future stating that there are yet to be any transfer talks. However, he still believes that there will be plenty of teams lining up once football resumes around the world.
"“At the moment, we have not spoken to anybody about any deals whatsoever. I think at the moment everyone’s concentration is regarding this pandemic and how football can restart the season in a secure environment and over the health and safety of everybody. I think the transfer side of things and where he will go or where people will go will come into play down the line when things have got back to some sort of normality.” Kia said.Source talkSport"
The player has admitted that he wants to return to the Premier League with Barca looking to accept any offer in the range of 80-100 million euros.
