Tottenham are ready to save Barcelona by signing Philippe Coutinho.

The Premier League giants, Tottenham Hotspurs, are interested in acquiring the Barcelona midfielder but only temporarily as they are looking for a loan deal.

Barca’s biggest problem for this summer is going to be figuring out a solution for Philippe Coutinho’s future. Many speculate that the Brazilian midfielder might stay at Camp Nou this summer as the player’s expensive salary demand and transfer value are not suitable for most European clubs.

Bayern Munich rejected the option of signing Coutinho permanently which has prompted several clubs’ interests in the player. Coutinho’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, has contacted multiple clubs in order to come up with a solution.

Sport, via Foot Insider, reports that the most likely deal to be finalized is with Tottenham as they have approached Barca with a loan offer. The Catalan side have demanded 10 million euro for the deal along with the obvious obligation of paying the player’s wages.

The Premier League side have offered to pay 12 million euros per season to Coutinho, that is 222k per week. Barca were originally hoping to sell the Brazilian for 80 million but with no one taking them up on the deal, because of the financial complications as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Barca are looking to secure a loan move for Coutinho instead.

Manchester United have also been among the interested sides with Newcastle also being recently added to the list. The player’s agent also lists Leicester City as one of the possibilities but no agreement has been reached with any of these sides.
