Jean-Clair Todibo

Despite being one of the future talents in Barcelona along with Ronald Araujo, Jean-Clair Todibo had grown frustrated over the lack of trust shown by the management of Barca as Clement Lenglet and Gerard Pique were overused throughout the season.

The French defender demanded a loan move during the winter transfer market this season and was successfully loaned out to Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga where the defender has shown his worth consistently for the German club this season.

Although selling Jean-Clair Todibo would be a massive loss for the club, Lionel Messi has demanded the sale of the French defender in order to raise money for the main operation of the summer. Schalke 04 has the option of purchasing the player permanently for 30 million euros at the end of the season and given the performances by the French defender along with the lack of confidence shown by the management team at Barca, it seems like Todibo would continue at the Bundesliga.

Rafinha

The last player to make the list is Rafinha Alcantara despite being a relatively close friend of Leo Messi. Unlike his brother Thiago Alcantara of Bayern Munich, Rafinha lacks the quality and the finesse that a midfielder requires to possess in Barcelona. Despite being signed in 2011, the midfielder has failed to secure minutes under several different managers over the years due to a series of injuries and has been loaned out thrice since his debut with the Blaugrana.

Currently, the 27-year-old midfielder is on loan with Celta Vigo on for a second spell and is set to return to the Camp Nou at the end of the season despite showing no signs of improvement while on loan.

With Rafinha set to return at the end of the season, realistically, the 27-year-old would not get any playing time as the midfield is already congested with the likes of Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic, Sergio Busquets, Frenkie de Jong, Ruiqi Puig, and Arthur Melo. The best alternative option for the Brazilian midfielder would be to leave the Camp Nou on loan or on a transfer since the player still has a few years of professional football left that could be used fruitfully instead of warming the bench at Barca and collecting a hefty salary.
