Liverpool are considering the signing of Barcelona star, Ousmane Dembele.

Ousmane Dembele was placed in the transfer market and Barcelona are prepared to listen to the right offer with Liverpool now planning to be that club.

More from Everything Barca

Liverpool boss, Jorgen Klopp, has always admired the French international. Barca managed to sign the youngster from Bundesliga side, Borussia Dortmund, back in 2017 when they lost Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain.

The reigning Champions League holders shockingly lost in this year’s European Championship campaign. They are now looking to add attacking reinforcements to their existing squad with Timo Werner being the favorite to join Anfield this summer.

The Premier League side have added Dembele to their list as they consider him to be a talent that can strengthen their squad for next year’s Champions League tournament after losing out to Atletico Madrid this year.

Dembele, though not a natural no. 9 like Werner is still being considered by the club as Klopp likes Dembele and wants to regain the missed opportunity of training him with his previous club at Dortmund.

Werner is currently the priority signing for the Reds as the Leipzig striker is in hot form after scoring 31 goals in 40 appearances this season across all competition while also providing 12 assists. RB Leipzig have demanded 55 million euros by June 15 for the forward. The German international has shown interest in wanting to move to the Premier League next season despite Barca’s availability.

If Liverpool fails to secure Werner by that date then they would move their focus on securing Dembele instead. The Frenchman’s reoccurring injuries at Camp Nou has hindered his chances of proving his worth at the Spanish club and must look elsewhere to secure this name as one of the best talents of his age.

Juventus have also asked for Dembele’s availability on a loan move to Turin but Barca boss, Quique Setien, still regards the 23-year-old very highly. He wants to use Dembele next season if available while the board feels that he must be sold as a result of the overbooking in the squad with 35 players already being named for next season which does not include the many names linked with a move to Camp Nou this season.

Should Barca look to sign Werner for 55 million instead of Lautaro Martinez for 111m?
