Sport reports that last Thursday, 15 members of Barca’s hierarchy including the president, CEO, directors, and sporting director, Eric Abidal, were all virtually connected to discuss the sales and signings for this summer.

During the meeting, the topic of Ansu Fati arose where it was mentioned that they have received an offer of 100m for the talented 17-year-old but club’s president was quick to dismiss any potential sale of their future superstar.

"‘Ansu Fati is not for sale. We don’t talk of that anymore.’ Bartomeu said.Source Sport"

The meeting continued to discuss the offers being received for other players but there was a real lack of ongoing negotiations happening in the current market perhaps because every club is focused on the restart of all footballing activities.

Meanwhile, there is uncertainty at Camp Nou regarding the club’s capabilities to balance their books especially because the club had predicted, prior to COVID-19, that they would make close to 124 million euros from sales this year.

The Catalan side have already managed to sell Carles Perez, Andre Gomez, and Malcom with additional players like Philippe Coutinho, Rafinha, Carles Alena, Jean-Clair Todibo being loaned out. Despite this, the Spanish giants need to raise another 69 million euros to balance their books.

Recent reports on Lautaro Martinez’s move to Camp Nou suggest that the club must pay somewhere between 70-90 million euros to Inter Milan with an additional 40m paid by giving Junior Firpo. This means even if Barca manage to balance their books by the end of this month, they will quickly find themselves struggling after the signing of the Argentine striker.

For this reason, an offer of 100m received for Ansu Fati could have been the perfect opportunity for Barca to fix their financial crisis while managing to secure their summer transfer targets. But at the same time, they would lose a talented forward who, at just 17 years of age, has shown immense potential to become one of the greatest.

Who should Barca sell besides Ansu Fati to improve their finances?
