Quique Setien reveals his plans for the latest Barcelona transfer.

Barcelona considers the signing of Braga’s Francisco Trincao a massive bargain as the 31 million euro transfer has increased its value even before his arrival at Camp Nou.

More from Everything Barca

The talented youngster recently showed that he is capable of performing despite the added pressure of representing Barca in the Portuguese league after his latest performance with S. C. Braga. The 20-year-old managed to get his team a penalty while also scoring a goal in the 54th minute in the 3-2 loss against Santa Clara.

In a recent interview, Quique Setien revealed that he is excited for Trincao’s arrival in Spain with the coach hoping to see him be successful as an interior midfielder at Camp Nou instead of his usual position as a winger.

He will be playing as an attacking midfielder in a similar manner as Barca legend, Andres Iniesta. Trincao’s abilities like dribbling past defenders, linking up with fellow teammates, and passing through the middle will fit Setien’s tactics perfectly.

When Francisco’s agent discussed his sale with Josep Maria Bartomeu, the club president did not hesitate to pay the 45 million euros demanded for the player who was regarded by many as the next Luis Figo.

The deal was made cheaper by the sale of Abel Ruiz on a 1-year loan deal with a mandatory fee of 8 million euros for his permanent services. The Catalans, however, do have the option to buy-back Ruiz in the future should they wish to see him return.
