Ansu Fati has attracted a lot of attention in the past year after his record-breaking debut season at Camp Nou as the teenager, at the mere age of 17, becomes the 6th most expensive La Masia product currently active beating the likes of Andre Onana, Dani Olmo and Sergio Busquets.
Naturally, the youngster has also garnered the interest of many European giants that are looking to acquire his services with Manchester United being the biggest targeter. The Premier League side are sincerely considering to sign Fati this summer as they have been extremely impressed by his performances in the 24 appearances he made for the first-team this season.
The Spaniard broke the record for being the second youngest footballer to ever represent the Catalan giants on his debut against Real Betis that Barca won 5-2 at home, Fati was only 16 years and 298 days.
There is no doubt that Fati has immense potential to become a great player and Manchester United are prepared to break the bank to bring him to Old Trafford. It was reported earlier that they had offered 100 million euros to Barca which was rejected by club’s president Josep Maria Bartomeu, but United have not given up just yet. Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is prepared to triple his current salary of 22,000 euros per week salary in order to convince him.
The Spanish side, however, have no intention of selling their most promising player unless United pays his roughly 170 million euro release clause to terminate his contract. Meanwhile, they are also planning to offer the youngster a contract renewal that would skyrocket his release clause to over 350 million euros.
Can Manchester United convince Barca this summer?
