Barcelona have secured another exciting youngster from Brazil for cheap.
Barcelona announces their latest signing of Brazilian youngster Gustavo Maia from Sao Paulo and have placed a 300 million euro release clause on him.

The youngster will initially be joining Barca’s ‘B’ squad after finally securing his dream move to Camp Nou. The transfer cost the Catalans 4.5 million euros, securing the teenager until 2025.
The club’s official website has announced the arrival of Maia along with providing the player’s achievement thus far in the world of football. The 19-year-old joined Sao Paulo at the age of 14 and after clearing three trails, was giving the green light to join the club’s academy.
This was the start of a very successful career at a young age as Maia has secured seven titles with Sao Paulo’s youth squad. His best season came in 2018 when the youngster managed to score 30 goals in 36 appearances. During his spell with Brazil in their U16 and U17 squads, the forward was seen featured on the left-flank despite being right-footed.
While he was never called up for Sao Paulo’s first-team, he spent plenty of time with former Barca full-back Dani Alves along with Hernandes and Alexandre Pato, who have helped him prepare for the move to Camp Nou.
His dribbling skills, ability to make meaningful runs while also possessing a lethal shot make him an exciting signing for the future as Barca prepares to reignite their reputation as the club with the best youth academy.
Barca had initially made a payment of 1 million euros in July to confirm the player for themselves and have now paid the rest 3.5 million to officially make him a Blaugrana youngster.
