The Spanish coach stood and watched his team being humiliated against the Bundesliga champions, failing to have any impact as a coach. Daily Mail reports that the board have already planned his sacking to bring necessary changes to fix the many issues revolving the club.
Barca president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, has promised crucial rebuild ahead of next season with Mauricio Pochettino being named the ideal man to lead the way, according to RAC1. The president had dinner with the former Tottenham coach this week to discuss his potential role at the club as Bartomeu would have only been able to offer a 1-year contract considering the elections happening in 2021.
The Argentine coach had previously been linked with a move to the Nou Camp ever since his departure from the Premier League side but his love for local rivals, Espanyol, had made him reject the role. But with Espanyol being relegated for at least a season, Pochettino is now open to re-evaluating the unique opportunity of coaching the Catalans.
The 48-year-old is publically addressing the comments he made about coaching Barca, shifting the narrative from never to quite possible.
“Espanyol is where I made my name but I am not arrogant and I don’t like having made a statement like that on. Perhaps now I would not have said that because in life you never know what will happen” Pochettino told El Pais.

It remains to be seen if the experienced coach is willing to join the clearly struggling Barca squad only for 1 season as the limited time will not be enough to bring the amount of change needed to go from 8-2 defeat against Bayern Munich to becoming the best squad in the world.
Can Pochettino bring the necessary changes to Barca?
