Barcelona defender, Gerard Pique, is prepared to do anything for a change.

Barcelona needs to hit rock-bottom to bring the necessary changes required claims star defender, Gerard Pique, who is ready to leave the club.

More from Everything Barca

The center-back is adamant about wanting a crucial evaluation on every part of the club, from players and coaches to the management itself. The Spaniard believes that in terms of the squad, not a single player should go without being questioned and assessed.

This is not the first time Barca have been humiliated in the UEFA Champions League, having already experienced massive defeats like 0-3 against Juventus in 2017, 3-0 against Roma in 2018, and 4-0 against Liverpool in 2019.

But never have they suffered a humiliation in the magnitude of that against Bayern Munich where the team took an 8-2 beating against the Bundesliga champions. To avoid such defeats, Pique admits that the entire squad needs to be changed even if it means his own spot.

After the horrific defeat, the 33-year-old was embarrassed with the team’s performance saying,

"“Shame is the word. You can’t play like that, you can’t play in Europe like that. It is neither the first, nor the second, nor the third time. It’s very hard, we all have to reflect.” Pique told Movistar post-match.Source Goal."

The Spaniard insisted that the club needs to bring about necessary changes to every position including the coaching staff, as the problem has been haunting them for many years now.

"“The club needs changes and I’m not talking about the coach, about the players. I don’t want to point at anyone. Structurally we needs changes of all kinds, because it is neither the first, nor the second nor the third time.”"

Pique, when mentioning the changes, did not mean just the players that were struggling but also the ones that seem crucial to the squad, including himself.

"“The first one to volunteer will be me, if new blood has to come in and change this dynamic I will be the first to go, to step aside. Now we have hit rock-bottom. I think we all have to look and reflect internally and decide what is best for Barca, which is the most important thing.”"

No one can deny that this version of Barca needs a serious overhaul to find their footing in world football or risk becoming an average team like fellow legendary clubs turned mediocre, AC Milan.
