Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman linked with yet another Dutchman’s signing.

Newly appointed Barcelona boss, Ronald Koeman, has already been linked with the signing of multiple Dutch internationals including Ajax midfielder, Donny Van de Beek, Liverpool’s Georginio  Wijnaldum and now Lyon forward, Memphis Depay.

Sport reports that Koeman wants to use his time with the Netherland national team to secure multiple Dutch reinforcements for the Catalan side. Lyon’s Depay is one of those footballers who Koeman believes could be a great value for his new club after having an impressive season with the French side.

Depay played a vital role in Lyon’s run in this year’s Champions League, reaching the semifinal stage only to face a supreme Bayern Munich. Koeman is working on a massive rebuilding project with newly-promoted sporting director Ramon Planes.

The pair are strategizing the best possible signing and departures ahead of the next season, which ensures a Champions League winning worthy squad. The current squad needs attacking reinforcements, and while Lautaro Martinez and Neymar have been linked with a move, Koeman believes that Depay could be the perfect alternative.

The 26-year-old attacker is valued for his pace and also versatility which will greatly benefit the Barca trio including a free-roaming Lionel Messi. Having scored 15 goals in 22 appearances, Depay could be a reliable source in the attack but his transfer will be difficult.

The player has already been approached by Premier League side, Tottenham, at which point Lyon’s president Jean-Michael Aulas, claimed to want 55 million euros for him. Barca will definitely be looking to lower the price but Aulas is known for his negotiations and will not be giving in to the Catalan’s demands.

Should Barca sign Depay?
