Barcelona looking to let three more players leave this transfer window.
It is no surprise that Barcelona are looking to rebuild their squad from scratch and are also going through some financial problems this summer due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Catalans have reportedly suffered a total loss of 320 million pounds over the summer. Hence, Josep Maria Bartomeu, the president has introduced the sell before purchase transfer policy for the current window.

Barca have already sold Ivan Rakitic to Sevilla, Luis Suarez to Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid, Nelson Semedo to Nuno’s Wolves and Arthur Melo to Juventus. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalans are now planning to sell off at least three more unwanted players like Jean Clair Todibo, Rafinha, Martin Braithwaite, and Samuel Umtiti.
Ronald Koeman has not said anything specific about signing or releasing players as of now. With 5 more days to go in this year’s summer transfer window, the Dutchman still has not ruled out any possible exit or entry. Barca are yet to close the deal with Ajax youngster Sergino Dest and they are still in talks with Lyon’s Memphis Depay and Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez who wants to play with fellow Argentine Lionel Messi.
However, The Blaugrana are looking to lower the wage bill for the current season as they have suffered a huge loss. Suarez’s departure to the Wanda Metropolitano has been a free transfer but his wages were freed up as the Uruguayan took huge pay every week.
As for the exits, there are many European clubs who are willing to sign Umtiti. Meanwhile, Rafinha has had small links to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. Ronald Koeman has not yet ruled out any signings either as Barca might land a couple of more transfers inside these five days.
Bartomeu and Koeman have managed to maintain the finances a little well so far. Messi wanted an out this summer as he handed in a transfer request. However, the sale of Messi possibly to City would solve all of these problems but the veteran has been forced to stay and will see out his contract, eventually leaving for free next season.
Do you agree with Barca’s decision of selling them?
