Barcelona latest arrival Sergino Dest has a bright future
Barcelona sign Sergino Dest as the long term heir to Dani Alves.
Barcelona have really signed a gem with the transfer of Sergino Dest. The American right back is considered to be one of the fastest growing attacking wing backs and he will fit into Barca’s philosophy perfectly. The club is looking to rebuild itself and with the transfer of Dest, many fans believe that they are finally taking the right step forward.

Nelson Semedo was sold to Wolves after a horrific out at Lisbon when Bayern Munich thrashed the Spanish powerhouse 8-2. It was one of the most embarrassing displays by the player and young star Alphonso Davis made an absolute mockery out of his defending. Meanwhile, 19-year-old Dest has now been chosen to replace Semedo and open up a new dynamic to the club’s game style. The former Ajax man has been tipped to become one of the best in the world due to his modern defensive role. The right-back mostly plays in a very advanced position and in most matches spends more time in the opponent’s half rather than his own half. His speed and skills are also remarkable and he is not afraid to carry out the ball on his own.
Due to his advanced role he is able to help out the attack a lot by constantly sending balls into the penalty area but it does ofcourse means that he leaves the back line vulnerable. In Ajax, due to the playing style, the player did not have to care much about the defence as their policy was to out score the opponents much like Atalanta, however, in the Camp Nou he must adapt to the new role.
Dest moving forward will leave the space behind him open, and Gerard Pique or a midfielder will have to fill the space, and this will be vital for the club’s success. Overall Dest is a brilliant player with a lot of vitality and can help out the struggling giants into regaining domestic and European Dominance.
