Eto’o scored 131 goals for the La Liga giants becoming their 8th highest goal scorer while winning two UEFA Champions League trophies with the club. The fans are expecting Fati to go the same way.
The youngster has already scored 3 of Barca’s 7 goals in two games for the new La Liga season. He is up there with Paco Alcacer, Iago Aspas, and Maxi Gomez in the league’s top scorer list for the season despite playing two lesser games. The youngster remains determined to make his own history at the club by himself just like his comparison Eto’o did.
Over the last couple of games against Celta and Villarreal, The Blaugrana witnessed the 17-year old make some moves just like the retired Cameroonian. Comparing his performances to Pep Guardiola’s Barca when they played Manchester United in 2009 and how Eto’o had performed in that game. The young forward also seems to have almost 100 percent effectiveness as he has 3 goals from 3 shots this season. Last season when he was of 16 years of age, he had 14 shots on goal and he scored 10 from those 14 shots.
Fati is a generational talent and the Catalans have a gem on their hands. At such a young age, the forward has exquisite passing, fantastic decision making, and a sharp eye for goal. If injuries do not get the better of him he can go on to be one of the greatest in the history of this game, inside 10 years.
Will Fati become a Barca legend?
