Koeman adds Puig to the list of superstars he wants to warm the bench

Ousmane Dembele has completely lost the plot at Barcelona. The 23-year-old was tipped to sign for Manchester United that would then permit the Catalans to sign Memphis Depay as well. However, a turn of events in the final hours of the transfer window saw Barca lose out on Depay as Dembele decided not to sign for United. Dembele has played just 21 minutes so far in the league and it is highly unlikely that he will be given more chances. Koeman prefers Coutinho, Griezman, Pedri, and Trincao ahead of the French forward.

Ousmane Dembele could be offloaded in the winter transfer market as Barcelona will once again attempt to sign Memphis Depay.

MARTIN BRAITHWAITE AND CARLES ALENA

Does Martin Braithwaite actually have a future at Barcelona is the real question. The Danish striker was signed as an emergency signing after Ousmane Dembele was ruled out for the rest of the season. Despite being an emergency signing, the striker was offered a four-year contract along with a release clause of 300 million euros, which is simply ridiculous. Braithwaite has not yet made his debut under Koeman this season as he missed the first two league games due to injury and did not feature in the draw against Sevilla.

Meanwhile, Carles Alena faces the same situation as Riqui Puig does due to the formation. Due to the immense competition is the double pivot role, Alena will have to warm the bench alongside Puig as Busquets, Frenkie de Jong, and Miralem Pjanic fight for a starting spot. A loan move in the winter transfer window would be ideal for both Carles Alena and Riqui Puig to continuing growing as a footballer.
