Koeman adds Puig to the list of superstars he wants to warm the bench

It is quite a well-known fact that Ronald Koeman wanted Riqui Puig to go out on loan this summer transfer market. However, the Spanish midfielder went against the manager’s decision as he believes he has the quality to secure a few minutes under the new manager. The issue is that Koeman prefers to play a 4-2-3-1 that is not an ideal formation for a player like Riqui Puig. Miralem Pjanic, Sergio Busquets, and Frenkie de Jong are Koeman’s preferred midfielders for the double pivot leaving no room for Riqui.

Puig has not played a single minute in the 2020/21 La Liga campaign and the midfielder should consider going out on loan in the winter transfer market.
