Luis Suarez claims Barcelona wanted him away from Lionel Messi.
Luis Suarez has brought some light to his sudden transfer away from the Nou Camp. He has been reportedly opening up about his situation at Barcelona and it looks like the Blaugrana let go of him in order to keep him away from Lionel Messi. As per reports, the center forward was one of the main reasons behind the shocking transfer request by Lionel Messi and hence that was the reason the club wanted to get rid of him.

Suarez has reportedly stated that he was pushed out of Barcelona just because he had supported Messi’s decision to leave the club. According to Express, the Uruguayan was to be kept away from the Argentine in order to not put more ideas about leaving the Nou Camp in his head.
The former Liverpool forward departed this transfer window after six years of solid service and left as their third-highest goalscorer of all time. After winning so many trophies and being involved in the famous trio that involved Messi and Neymar Jr, Suarez is surely a legend for the Catalans.
However, the veteran was mistreated as he left the club to join Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid on a free transfer. The forward had a year left on his contract but the club paid half of his salary in a single transaction in order to terminate his contract. The Uruguayan ended up moving to Barca’s rivals at the Wanda Metropolitano and scored two goals on his Atleti debut.
Suarez will be a huge loss for the Blaugrana as they even failed to find a replacement for him. They were heavily linked to Lyon’s Memphis Depay and Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez but none of those deals went through. Having said that, Memphis Depay will be pushing to complete the move in January, according to many sources.
Will Barca regret letting Suarez leave without signing a replacement?
